Program
Rummage Sale 30 May 2009 from 8:00-noon. Parking lot northwest corner of E. Main and N. Vine
Membership
charged to update by-laws concerning items such as:
to investigate removing East Central Reinvestment Corp.(ECRC) representative from board
to better define responsibility for producing the ECNA newsletters.
Advocacy
Looking for input regarding the condition of lots left after dilapidated houses have been demolished. Lot at 304 N. Vine given as example of poor conditions.
Weed-n-Seed
Discussion
of communication problems. Perception of the program by some
neighborhood residents does not match goals of program.
Old Business:
Discussion of ECNA booth at the Minnetrista Farmers Market.
MSP motion to approve outlay of $26 to secure a shared (alternating weeks with another vendor) booth space for June-August.
MSP motion to require each neighborhood “vendor” to contribute $1 per week to participate in the ECNA booth.
Report that the easter egg sale has raised at least $1000 towards supporting the Old Washington Street Festival (OWSF)
Discussion
about inquiring again to the parks department about the repair of
the slide in Washington Park.
New Business:
Discussion community garden program
Bonnie Inc. has donated 14 flats of plants to the program
Annie Poole reported that Jason Donati has indicated that all are welcome to work in the community
gardens. One current community garden space is on the 300 block of E. North Street and there is discussion of another on E. Adams
Discussion of how possibly integrate the OWSF with the art walk and Governor's Art Award ceremony taking place the following week in September. Possibility of art display at the Kimbrough house.
Discussion of impact of possible closing of the downtown fire station.
Discussion of selling concessions during one of the downtown movie nights as a fund raising event. MSP motion to express our desire to participate on either 14 or 21 August movie night.
Discussion
of the need to mow the lawns of ECRC properties in light of their
continuing financial problems.
